Year * Comments and Notes
1920 - 1938 In the 1925-1926 season, District A had been split in two, forming sub district A and B, each with their own District Governor, but they were reunited the following year. Note that at the end of the 1937-1938 season, District A was divided into sub districts A1, A2, & A3 creating Multiple District "A".
1938 - 1956 In 1938, with the formation of the Multiple Distrct "A", the Chairman of the Governing Council  and the Board of Governors would be elected from the District Governors elected for each year.
1956 - 1975 In 1956, the Council Chairman would be elected from the previous year's Governors' Council.
Beginning in 1965 the term Past District Governor replaced International Counsellor.
1976 - 1987 In 1976, re-districting added Districts A-15 and A-16 to Multiple District "A".

1987 - 2005 In 1987 women were invited to join the International Association of Lions Clubs.
In 1994 Districts A8, A10, A14 & A17 seperated from MD"A" to form the new MD"U".
In 2002, Districts A-7 and A-11 were combined into District A-711.
